Senate Bill 744 is a proposal for comprehensive immigration reform introduced in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, April 16th. Since the bill is just a proposal, there is no new law or new immigration benefit to apply for at this time. A bill does not become law until it is approved by both the Senate and the House, and the bill is signed by the President.
With Comprehensive Immigration Reform in the news, notarios and other unauthorized consultants may try to take advantage of the public. Do not believe notarios or other unauthorized consultants who say there is a new law. Wait until legislation is enacted, possibly later this year. The wrong help can harm your chances of becoming a lawful resident or citizen.
